After wine tasting all day, we were happy
to find the Plymouth House Inn was quiet and the room was clean with
fancy old-time curtains. Comfortable bed, the place was clean and
charming. The only thing wrong was one of the curtains was missing. I
found it hanging in the closet without a rod to hang it. If it weren't
for the lateness of the hour, I would've asked Sandra to hang it. Thus,
we were awakened with the sun shinning in our room. Breakfast was
wonderful, but it felt too formal for me. (Eating with people we didn't
know, so we were using our best table manners). Nice touch was the two
complimentary waters. Would love to stay again.
We decided to visit Amador
County's wine country, with dozens of wineries all conveniently
grouped together in secnic country foothills east of Sacramento
as a quick 3-day getaway. The Plymouth House Inn was easy to
find and a great place to start our days from visiting all the
wineries of various sizes and tastes. Also nearby were the old
towns from the gold rush days that were fun to visit in between.
The owner, Sandra Sanders was our gracious host, and a fantastic
cook at breakfast! As we came mid week we enjoyed the quiet and
shared the house with one other young couple with whom we had a
great morning conversation with along with Sandra who shared
with the fascinating history of the house built by a doctor and
the tunnel which crossed under the street to the hotel where
ladies of the night worked. The local gold rush towns all
featured nice restaurants to visit in the evenings as well. I
hope to go back for the laid back, casual atmosphere of Plymouth
House and Amador wine country!
Room Tip: We
had the front room and thought it just charming.
“Rare
Find”
Just outside Sacramento in the foothills of the Sierras is a rare find, wonderful for a weekend getaway in beautiful wine country. I found the Inn to be cozy, warm and welcoming. A fabulous value of comfort, fun and good food /wine. The InnKeeper, Sandy and resident cat CeCe are delightful, full of excellent and interesting historical information. I will be back and highly recommend the experience.

“Quaint
little getaway spot”
Enjoyed
staying at an historic
little house in the
foothills. Very quiet and
peaceful. The owner Sandra,
was like an old friend,
gracious, helpful and
knowledgeable about where to
eat, what to see and what to
do in the area.
I will definately stay there
again. CeeCee the little
black kitty was a friendly
plus to my stay.
Thanks for a wonderful
experience.

“Enjoyable
anniversary at the Inn”
My
wife and I had a
very nice stay in
the Dr. Tiffany room
a year or so earlier
when exploring the
wine country, so we
decided to spend our
anniversary eve at
the Inn the
following year. The
Carousel Suite was
the perfect getaway,
quietly tucked
behind the main
house with its own
entrance. It was
like the Inn was our
own. The suggestion
of dinner just a
block away at Taste
turned out to be a
wonderful idea of
the innkeeper,
Sandra. Her
knowledge of the
area has help us
many times when
visiting the
countryside
surounding Plymouth.
I would recommend
the Inn to anyone
who wants to stay in
a lovely part of our
gold rush history.

“Loved the Inn”
This is a charming B&B that is just delightful. The house is historical, clean, and what a wonderful breakfast we received in the morning. I would definately recommend this faclitiy while visiting this beautiful wine country.
“Can't beat the coffee service!”
Wine
